Tyra Wiegers

My name is Tyra Wiegers and I currently live in Lower Windsor Township in York Co. I grew up on a farm outside of State College, Pa, moved to Lancaster Co in 2011 and then bought our farm in York Co in 2022.

Since moving to the Lancaster/ Chester/ York Co areas, I have been involved in a significant number of equestrian activities. I have managed shows for various organizations; combined training events, dressage, hunter/ jumper along with being on the board for the Dunmovin Dressage Days shows held at Devon for 4 years, and this past year was the Manager/ Secretary for the Amateur Only Show and Secretary for the 2 days of Recognized shows. A few years ago, I audited the L Judges program to gain a better understanding of how the scoring works, what judges are looking for and to decide if becoming a licensed judge was something I was interested in. I am currently completing my prerequisites to apply for the Technical Delegate program through USEF/ USDF.

In my free time I run my boarding facility, show both at local schooling shows and recognized shows, with goals of qualifying for various championships. I have also given some presentations on goals and intention setting as it relates to riding and progressing in your riding and/or showing (with a section on understanding what you need to do to accomplish qualifying for various awards and championships through USEF/ USDF for those who request it) which have been super fun and helpful.

Being elected to the IEO board would allow me to bring my experiences and ideas to another group of equestrians to continue to grow and educate our community.
